According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff on June 10, Chairman Kim visited the Army 2nd Operational Command and the Air Force 11th Fighter Wing on this day. This inspection was conducted to assess practical, field-oriented readiness at a time when the possibility of enemy provocations remains high, considering the current security situation. It also aimed to emphasize safety measures during operations and training in the field.
At the 2nd Operational Command, Chairman Kim received a briefing on the operational execution system against enemy threats. He instructed, "To enhance the ability to conduct joint, combined, and integrated defense operations tailored to the characteristics of the operational area, we must ensure seamless cooperation and integrated training with various elements of integrated defense. This includes military, civilian, police, and fire agencies working together as 'One Team' to establish a robust integrated defense posture."
Chairman Kim also stressed, "We must continue to improve and develop our operations to achieve optimal mission execution, taking into account changes in the operational environment and the nature of warfare, advances in cutting-edge science and technology, and the reality of force reduction."
He then visited the 11th Fighter Wing to inspect the immediate response posture against a range of enemy provocations and incursions into the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ) by neighboring countries. He said, "Through strengthening the mental readiness of the air battlefield and conducting realistic training, maintain the capability to respond overwhelmingly to any provocation by the enemy and uphold the highest level of readiness." He also requested, "From peacetime, ensure that operational safety is secured by strictly adhering to safety regulations and procedures during equipment operation, so that smooth mission execution is always guaranteed."
