Guidance Texts to Vacant House Owners Starting June 11
On June 10, Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province announced that it will actively promote the "Rural Vacant House Bank Transaction Activation Support Project" to encourage urban-to-rural migration and revitalization of rural communities.
The Rural Vacant House Bank Project is an initiative that enables information on vacant houses collected by the county to be listed as properties on private real estate platforms and comprehensive support platforms for urban-to-rural migration.
The county plans to implement the project in cooperation with local licensed real estate agents by first selecting partner agents and then working together with the Rural Migration Architecture Support Center, which serves as the management institution.
In addition, starting June 11, the county will send text messages to owners of vacant houses to confirm their intention to agree to transactions, aiming to facilitate actual deals of rural vacant homes.
Once the owner of a vacant house agrees to the transaction, a partner real estate agent will review the property's eligibility for transaction. After this review, the property will be listed on private real estate platforms and the comprehensive support platform for urban-to-rural migration to encourage successful transactions.
Through this Rural Vacant House Bank, the county aims to address the rural housing challenges faced by the baby boomer generation who dream of moving to the countryside, while also helping vacant house owners convert their assets, thus achieving a win-win outcome.
Bok Inhan, head of the county's Building Permit Division, stated, "From management to disposal, we hope you will entrust your concerns about vacant houses to the 'Rural Vacant House Bank.' Owners who receive the text message can participate in the Rural Vacant House Bank simply by submitting a brief consent form."
