According to the National Fire Agency, a report was received at 10:22 a.m. on June 10 that a fire had started at the Buddhist Central Museum inside Jogyesa Temple in Gyeonji-dong, Jongno-gu. The first fire response team arrived within five minutes, at 10:27 a.m. Twelve minutes later, at approximately 10:39 a.m., the fire authorities issued Level 1 of the emergency response and are currently working to extinguish the blaze.


So far, 47 personnel and 16 pieces of equipment have been deployed to put out the fire.


As of 11:00 a.m., there have been no reported casualties. The Jogye Order is reported to have evacuated monks and staff members.
