Senior Secretary Woo Sangho to Visit National Assembly on June 10 for Courtesy Meetings with Speaker and Party Leaders

Woo Sangho, Senior Presidential Secretary for Political Affairs, will visit the National Assembly on the afternoon of June 10 to pay courtesy visits to the leadership of both the ruling and opposition parties, including National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonshik. Woo plans to first meet with Speaker Woo, followed by Park Chan-dae, acting leader and floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Kim Yongtae, acting chairman of the People Power Party's emergency committee, in succession.

The presidential office announced in a press release that Woo will ask Speaker Woo and the party leaders for cooperation and communication on overall state affairs, and will seek to strengthen collaboration with the National Assembly. It was also stated that Kim Sunmin, acting leader of the Rebuilding Korea Party, and others will be visited at a later date after scheduling adjustments.


The presidential office explained that this round of courtesy visits marks the first step toward establishing a practical foundation for cooperation, emphasizing that the Lee Jaemyung administration is prioritizing overcoming the livelihood crisis by enhancing communication, cooperation, and compromise between the National Assembly and the political sphere.


Senior Secretary Woo Sangho stated, "There can be no division between the ruling and opposition parties when it comes to the people's livelihoods," adding, "I will sincerely serve as a bridge for cooperation by engaging in serious consultations with the opposition and recognizing them as partners in state affairs."
