This flea market will feature a total of 20 local social economy enterprises and small business owners dedicated to realizing social value, presenting a wide range of products and services.

‘Social economy’ refers to economic activities that prioritize people-centered values over profit maximization, aiming to solve community issues and pursue the common good. Social enterprises, cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-support enterprises fall under this category. Currently, there are about 250 such companies in Songpa-gu.

This event will provide an opportunity for social economy enterprises to meet directly with residents, serving not only as a venue for product sales but also as a chance to promote their brands and expand their markets. A diverse selection of value-driven products will be available, including zero-waste household goods for eco-friendly living, handmade leather crafts carefully created by people with mobility impairments, and terrariums for cultivating personal mini-gardens.

In addition, companies offering residential convenience services such as simple home repairs, as well as businesses supporting activities for people with disabilities, will participate to introduce their social value to residents and foster a sense of community. Notably, in collaboration with the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service Seoul Regional Office, the event will also facilitate the purchase of goods from participating companies and connect these purchases with donation opportunities.

Seo Kangseok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “Songpa Eum Market is a meaningful consumption platform that connects social value with the local economy,” adding, “We will continue to expand support for diverse sales channels so that social economy enterprises can take root stably in the community.”
