Medical Support Corps Participation Monument and 6.25 Yeongdo Guerrilla Unit Historic Site Monument
The Busan Regional Veterans Office (Director Namil Lee) announced on June 9 that the Yeongdo District Veterans Association (President Sangkyum Kim) held a memorial service and conducted cleanup activities on June 6, Memorial Day, at the Medical Support Corps Participation Monument and the 6·25 Yeongdo Guerrilla Unit Historic Site Monument in Taejongdae Park, Yeongdo District.
The activities on this day included cleaning the monuments, tidying the surrounding area, and removing weeds as part of the memorial facility cleanup effort.
The Medical Support Corps Participation Monument is a facility built in September 1976 to honor the sacrifices and contributions of soldiers and medical personnel from six countries?Norway, Denmark, India, Italy, Sweden, and Germany?who participated in the Korean War.
A representative of the Yeongdo District Veterans Association stated, "We will continue our efforts to widely promote the noble spirit of those who sacrificed for the country through memorial facilities, and to ensure that these facilities are actively used as experiential spaces for spreading veterans’ culture."
The Busan Regional Veterans Office is actively encouraging companies, schools, and other organizations to participate in memorial facility visits and cleanup activities to honor the spirit of sacrifice of national merit recipients and to foster a spirit of patriotism.
