Comedian Lee Kyungkyu is under police investigation on suspicion of driving after taking medication.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 9th that Lee is currently under preliminary investigation (internal inquiry) for violating the Road Traffic Act.
According to the police, on the previous day, Lee reportedly drove a car belonging to someone else, which was the same make and model as his own, after a parking attendant at an indoor golf practice range in Gangnam District, Seoul, made a mistake.
After receiving a theft report from the vehicle owner, the police responded to the scene and conducted both alcohol and drug tests on Lee. It was reported that the preliminary drug test returned a positive result.
During the police investigation, Lee reportedly stated, "I only took medication that was prescribed to me."
A police official stated, "We cannot confirm further details regarding this case."
