DGIST (President Geonwoo Lee) held an exchange event with Korea University on June 5 and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote mutual cooperation between the two institutions. The agreement aims to strengthen ongoing and practical collaboration in various fields for the joint development of both universities.

Through this MOU, DGIST and Korea University plan to expand cooperation in a wide range of areas, including educational innovation and personnel exchange, joint research and sharing of research infrastructure, promotion of global engagement and international cooperation, and the implementation of credit exchange programs. Both institutions intend to create tangible synergy effects by jointly utilizing resources and facilities, as well as encouraging active exchanges between students and researchers.

In particular, a separate agreement was also signed during the event to facilitate credit exchange, establishing a system that allows students from both universities to have credits earned at the partner institution mutually recognized. As a result, students will enjoy more diverse educational opportunities, and flexible academic operations, such as during regular semesters and seasonal sessions, are also anticipated in the future.

DGIST President Geonwoo Lee stated, "This agreement marks the starting point for both universities to actively share educational and research resources and to collaborate in nurturing convergence-type talent required by future society." He added, "DGIST will continue to expand its educational and research ecosystem that contributes to sustainable social development through collaboration with various universities and institutions."

Korea University President Dongwon Kim said, "This signing ceremony marks the beginning of practical cooperation in which both universities share and realize their visions." He continued, "The connection of knowledge and circulation of talent between our two universities will greatly contribute to solving the complex problems facing our society." He also stated, "As Korea University celebrates its 120th anniversary, we will design a sustainable future through 'Next Intelligence,' which seeks harmony between artificial intelligence (AI) and human intelligence (HI)."

Meanwhile, DGIST is creating future value for the region and the nation through convergence research and innovative education based on science and technology, and plans to continue expanding cooperation with leading domestic and international universities in the future.
