KOSME hosts investment attraction event in New York
Connecting Korean tech ventures with local US investors

On June 6 local time, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced that it had held an investment attraction consultation event at the event hall of the 'PENN1' tower in Manhattan, New York, USA. This event was part of the 'K-Tech US Investment Attraction Program' operated by the KOSME New York Global Business Center (GBC). It aimed to directly connect domestic small and medium-sized ventures with local US investors to expand investment opportunities, and to serve as a platform for reviewing global expansion strategies amid rapidly changing international trade conditions.

In particular, the event featured IR pitching sessions by 10 technology-based small and medium-sized ventures preparing to enter the US market in response to rising entry barriers in advanced fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and healthcare, as well as one-on-one consultations with local investors.

More than 100 people attended the event, including global venture capitalists such as Third Prime, SOSV, NY Ventures, and Deutsche Bank, as well as representatives from local government agencies and institutions such as the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and Empire State Development (ESD).

Lee Byungchul, Deputy Director of KOSME, stated, "This event will serve as a stepping stone for promising domestic small and medium-sized ventures to expand globally and attract investment from the US market." He added, "We will continue to strengthen our connections with leading overseas VCs and financial and industrial institutions to help domestic companies effectively adapt to foreign investment environments and achieve sustainable growth."
