Three-Month Batch Program for Early-Stage Startups
Simultaneous Investment Opportunities and Intensive Mentoring Support
The early-stage venture capital firm TheVentures announced on June 9 that it will participate as a partner in the regular batch program "KimgisaLab 7th Batch," operated by KimgisaLab. Applications for participating teams will be accepted from today until the 27th.
The KimgisaLab batch program is an intensive three-month acceleration course for early-stage startups, offering investment, mentoring, and business development support through regular selection rounds. TheVentures decided to join the program, recognizing the need for hands-on batch programs focused on the early stage, even amid a sluggish investment environment. Both organizations are investment firms founded by entrepreneurs themselves.
For this 7th batch, TheVentures will participate as a partner and jointly review investment opportunities for the participating teams. The benefits for selected teams include: initial investment of over 100 million KRW, one-on-one mentoring with the founder of Kimgisa, recommendations for R&D deep-tech TIPS (a public-private startup support program), opportunities to move into the Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok Center, and networking with domestic and international entrepreneurs and experts. Investment reviews will be conducted separately by both organizations, and joint investments will be flexibly applied depending on the situation and choices of the startups.
Kim Chulwoo, CEO of TheVentures, stated, "The greatest strength of this program is that it is structured to allow us to work closely with early-stage teams and help them turn their ideas into action. As a founder myself, I have always considered strategies and execution from the same perspective as the teams, so I will do my best to help capable teams create real opportunities."
Shin Myungjin, CEO of KimgisaLab, said, "Since this is an opportunity to receive investment from two venture capital firms at the same time, I hope that many startups will actively participate."
This program is open to any startup in any field, as long as it has been established for less than three years. The final selection results are scheduled to be announced on the 18th of next month.
