Active Support for Market Merchants' Health Management
through Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention Programs
The Sacheon City Public Health Center in South Gyeongsang Province will operate the 'Traditional Market Health Transformation Project' for traditional market merchants, who often neglect their health due to work commitments, over a total of nine weeks from June to July.
This year, Sacheon-eup Market has been selected as the project site, and the program will be implemented intensively there.
Traditional market merchants face difficulties in managing chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, which are major risk factors for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In response, the Sacheon City Public Health Center will visit the market directly to provide ▲ basic health measurements (blood pressure, blood sugar), ▲ personalized health consultations, and ▲ cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease prevention and management programs.
This project will involve professional staff from the public health center providing one-on-one health consultations, and the program will offer practical information that can be applied in daily life, such as accurate knowledge and lifestyle habits for the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
In addition, the weekly 'Market Health Exercise' sessions will energize merchants and actively encourage them to practice healthy living. The health exercise routines are designed to be easy for anyone to follow and are expected to help improve the merchants' health.
A representative from the Sacheon City Public Health Center stated, "Traditional markets are the backbone of the local economy, but it is difficult for merchants to manage their health due to their work. We will actively support merchants so that they can take care of their own health and prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases."
