Key Naver executives, including Chairman Lee Haejin, CEO Choi Suyeon, and Head of Strategic Investments Kim Namsun, held a networking event with members of the startup ecosystem at the Four Seasons Hotel in Silicon Valley on June 5 (local time). During the event, they discussed various topics related to the establishment of Naver Ventures.

Approximately 200 major entrepreneurs, engineers, and investors attended the event, including Kim Dongsin, CEO of Sendbird; Ahn Ikjin, CEO of Moloco; Kim Sungmoo, CEO of Datarize; and Kim Jinwoo, CEO of Liner, all active in Silicon Valley. CEO Choi and Chairman Lee presented on the background of Naver Ventures' establishment and ways to contribute to the ecosystem, while CEO Kim participated in a panel discussion on AI with Lee Jaesung, CEO of Twelve Labs, and others.

CEO Choi stated, "Silicon Valley is a cradle of technology and innovation, where talented individuals and new technologies gather," adding, "Even amid global uncertainties, we will play a role in ensuring that these talents receive stable investment and are able to develop technologies and operate their businesses."

Chairman Lee shared his experience of starting and growing from a startup, as well as his perspective on the AI era. He expressed his commitment to actively invest in and collaborate with startups, talent, and future technologies, aiming to build an ecosystem where growth is shared. He said, "We will find and invest in capable startups and talent, support them, and grow together by connecting them with Naver's experience, creating an AI era where diversity coexists."

Naver expects that, through Naver Ventures, it will not only keep pace with global tech trends but also create new growth momentum through synergies with new technologies, talent, and partners.

Meanwhile, Naver Ventures, to be led by Head of Strategic Investments Kim Namsun, plans to complete its establishment procedures within this month. Its first investment destination has been confirmed as 'Twelve Labs,' a video AI startup attracting global attention.
