Over the weekend, Gwangju and Jeonnam will experience relatively clear weather under early summer sunshine. However, residents in inland Jeonnam should prepare for heat, as the perceived temperature may exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, on the 7th, Gwangju and Jeonnam will be mostly clear as they fall on the edge of a high-pressure system over the southern seas of Japan. However, from the afternoon, clouds will increase at times. The maximum daytime temperature is expected to range from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
The following day will also see clear weather, but inland Jeonnam will be even hotter. Morning temperatures will be between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperatures will be around 24 to 30 degrees Celsius. However, with increased humidity, the perceived temperature could rise above 31 degrees Celsius. Generally, for every 10% change in humidity from a baseline of 55%, the perceived temperature rises or falls by about 1 degree Celsius.
An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "In many inland areas of Jeonnam, daytime temperatures will exceed 30 degrees Celsius, and until today, the temperature difference between day and night will remain above 15 degrees Celsius, so please pay special attention to health management."
