On June 6, President Lee Jaemyung appointed Kim Yongbeom, former First Vice Minister of Economy and Finance, as Chief of Policy at the Presidential Office.

Hoonshik Kang, Chief of Staff to the President, held a briefing at the Presidential Office on the same day and announced the organizational restructuring plan and the results of the first round of appointments.

Chief of Staff Kang stated, "Chief Kim has served as a Senior Economist at the World Bank and as the First Vice Minister of Economy and Finance, giving him a deep understanding of overall economic policy and a strong international perspective." Kang added, "He is the right person to implement President Lee's pledges and policies to overcome the livelihood crisis, given his experience in crisis response during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Hajoonkyung Ha, a professor at Hanyang University, was selected as Senior Secretary for Economic Growth. Chief Kang emphasized, "Senior Secretary Ha is a scholar with extensive knowledge in macroeconomics and industrial policy," and noted, "He also participated in the process of formulating President Lee's pledges, so he has a deep understanding of the President's economic growth philosophy."

Jinyoung Moon, a professor at Sogang University, was appointed as Senior Secretary for Social Affairs. Professor Moon is known for proposing measures such as the introduction of child allowances. Chief Kang mentioned, "He will concretize the President's vision for a welfare state."
