Xavier Brunson, Commander of United States Forces Korea, visited the Seoul National Cemetery on June 6, Memorial Day, to pay tribute to Korean War veterans.


On this day, Commander Brunson visited the Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, where he laid a wreath and observed a moment of silence. At the site, he stated, "On this solemn day commemorating Memorial Day in the Republic of Korea, we also remember the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations Command and all nations that have contributed to Korea's freedom and prosperity."


He went on to say, "I express my gratitude to all Korean War veterans," and added, "I also extend my appreciation to all United Nations member countries that sacrificed blood and treasure so that we may live freely."


Commander Brunson also attended the 70th Memorial Day ceremony held at the Seoul National Cemetery on the morning of June 6, where President Lee Jaemyung was present.
