Lee Chulgyu's Son Attempted to Buy Cannabis 9 Times... Took Turns Smoking with Wife

It has been revealed that the son of Lee Chulgyu, a member of the People Power Party who has been indicted and detained on charges including the use of synthetic cannabis, attempted to purchase synthetic cannabis at least nine times. Some of the attempts were successful, and there is evidence that he actually obtained the drug and smoked it together with his wife.

According to the indictment submitted by the prosecution to Park Eunjung, a member of the Rebuilding Korea Party, on June 6, Lee's son, identified as Mr. Lee, attempted to purchase liquid cannabis with acquaintances starting from October 27 of last year.

They tried to receive the cannabis using the "throw-off" method. The transaction involved sending payment through an account managed by a virtual asset transfer agency, after which they would receive location information?referred to as "coordinates"?from the seller.

Lee and his group tried to collect cannabis at various locations, including an apartment complex in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, an empty lot in Suwon, a flower bed at an officetel in Seocho-gu, and an apartment water pump room, but they failed in most attempts.

However, in February of this year, they succeeded in two purchases. On February 1, in the early morning, Lee obtained about 10ml of synthetic cannabis at a public phone booth in an apartment complex in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and five days later, he collected cannabis again under a pavilion in the same apartment complex area.

Subsequently, it was found that Lee and his wife took turns inhaling the synthetic cannabis using an electronic cigarette at their residence. Lee has been indicted and detained, while his wife, identified as Ms. Lim, has been indicted without detention.

Co-defendants in the case include Mr. Jung, a middle school classmate who joined Lee in searching for synthetic cannabis, and Mr. Kwon, a former senior from his military service. Investigations also confirmed that one of them used methamphetamine in March of this year.
