Food Hygiene Training Provided for Existing General Restaurant Owners
Yangsan City holds educational session to strengthen food safety standards and promote a healthy dining culture
On June 4, Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province held a 'Food Hygiene Education for Existing General Restaurant Owners' at the Grand Performance Hall of the Yangsan Culture and Arts Center. The event was organized by the Yangsan branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association, with approximately 300 existing general restaurant owners in attendance.
This training session included a direct lecture by the head of the Yangsan City Hygiene Division, who provided explanations on food hygiene laws and policy directions. Additionally, the responsible officer conducted practical training focused on food poisoning prevention. The program was designed to offer practical and helpful information.
In particular, the training provided general restaurant owners with comprehensive explanations on food hygiene management, raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a hygienic and safe dining culture. This served as an opportunity to lay the foundation for further advancement in the foodservice industry.
Hygiene education for existing business owners is a mandatory legal requirement under the Food Sanitation Act, and owners must complete three hours of hygiene education each year. Failure to do so will result in a fine of 200,000 won, so special attention from business owners is required.
Nah Yusun, head of the Hygiene Division, stated, "I hope that through this training, the hygiene standards of general restaurants in our city will improve and a healthy dining culture will become established."
