Governor Park said, "For over 30 years, council members have carried out their legislative duties without a dedicated office building, and I recognize the efforts involved," adding, "Even in the National Assembly, the members' office building is often busier than the main building, and I expect the same here."

He went on to say, "I hope that, with this opening, research and policy studies that better reflect the will of the residents will become even more active. I am confident that the Provincial Council will continue to earn the love and trust of the residents, and I wish Chairman Choi and all council members continued success."

The Gyeongnam Provincial Council Members' Office Building was completed after 1 year and 7 months of construction, which began in November 2023, at a total cost of 19.1 billion KRW.

The office building was constructed behind the current main building, on the site of the provincial government sports field, and consists of one underground floor and three above-ground floors, with a total area of 350 square meters.

The first floor houses a Provincial Residents' Performance Hall with 204 seats and an exhibition space for artworks by people with disabilities, while the second and third floors contain 46 individual research offices for council members.

Currently, there are 46 members of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council. Previously, one or two members shared a research office in the main building, but with the completion of the new office building, each member will now have an individual research office.

With the construction of the members' office building, the council plans to create additional office space for staff in the expanded main building and establish new convenience facilities for residents.

In addition, construction of a bridge connecting the main building and the members' office building is scheduled to begin soon.
