"I Will Not Issue Unfair Work Orders"... Gyeongbuk Office of Education Holds Declaration Ceremony to Eradicate Power Abuse Among Grade 5 and Above Officials

On June 4, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jongshik) held a "Declaration Ceremony to Eradicate Power Abuse" at the Stanford Hotel Andong in Andong, with 213 general public officials at grade 5 or higher from across the province in attendance. The event was held to express their commitment to fostering a transparent and healthy public service culture.


This declaration ceremony was organized to eliminate unreasonable authoritarian practices within the organization and to establish a healthy workplace culture based on mutual respect and trust. Senior officials, including Superintendent Lim Jongshik, participated in the event, reaffirming their strong determination to realize an ethical and transparent public sector.

The declaration, read aloud during the ceremony, included pledges to prohibit unfair work orders based on one’s position or rank; to strictly separate public and private matters and reject inappropriate solicitations; to ban excessive or improper work instructions; to prohibit derogatory remarks or abusive language and acts of violence or character defamation based on appearance, educational background, or other factors; and to create an organizational culture of mutual respect and consideration.


Following the ceremony, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to continue systematic efforts to eradicate power abuse through effective institutional improvements and preventive education. The office aims to build a culture of mutual respect in the workplace through policies that can be tangibly experienced at the field level.


Superintendent Lim Jongshik stated, "A healthy organization begins with an atmosphere of understanding and trust among its members," and urged, "I hope that all members will work together so that a workplace culture where everyone is respected can take root through communication and consideration."
