From the 17th, Choose Your Desired Benefits with Stars
Free Exchanges Expanded: Size Upgrades, Food and MD Vouchers, and More
Starbucks Korea announced on June 5 that it will completely revamp its membership program, 'Starbucks Rewards,' starting from June 17.
The newly updated rewards program will offer a wider variety of benefits that customers can redeem for free, depending on the number of stars they have accumulated. These benefits include free size upgrades on handcrafted beverages, free handcrafted beverages, food vouchers, and MD (merchandise) vouchers. The focus is on providing a more convenient and satisfying rewards experience.
For Gold members, as before, they can redeem a free handcrafted beverage coupon with 8 or 12 stars. Newly added benefits include the ability to use 2 stars for a beverage size upgrade, 15 stars for an 8,000 won food voucher, and 50 stars for a 25,000 won MD voucher. Food and MD vouchers can also be used toward products that exceed the voucher amount by paying the difference, further expanding the range of reward options.
The star coupon redemption feature, which was previously available only to Gold members, will now be expanded to Green members as well. Green members will now be able to use their accumulated stars to issue coupons for a size upgrade or a free beverage coupon that can be exchanged for one of the following: Caffe Americano, Caffe Latte, Today's Coffee, or Iced Coffee.
In anticipation of the rewards program update, Starbucks is holding a special event until June 15 to allow more customers to enjoy Gold member benefits. Customers who purchase a Frappuccino or blended beverage using a Starbucks Card or account-based quick payment will receive 3 additional stars. In addition, another event will run until August 14, allowing both Green and Gold members to use 7 stars to exchange for either a 'Baguette Salt Bread' or 'Tangjong Bagel.' Gold members can also use 13 stars to enjoy either an Americano or Caffe Latte made with Reserve Micro Blend 21 beans.
Lee Sangmi, head of marketing at Starbucks, stated, "We aimed to provide richer and more practical benefits by analyzing customers' diverse preferences and consumption patterns," adding, "We will continue to actively reflect customer feedback and introduce differentiated rewards programs in the future."
