Kibo Wins Green Company Grand Prize at 2025 Busan Green Environment Awards

Contribution to Spreading Regional ESG Values
Through Financial Support Based on Carbon Value Assessment

On June 5, Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced that it had received the Grand Prize in the Green Company category at the 30th Environment Day Commemoration Ceremony held at Busan City Hall.

The Busan Green Environment Award is an honor presented annually by the city of Busan since 2000. It recognizes citizens, organizations, and companies that have contributed to environmental conservation and the advancement of the environmental sector in Busan, including efforts in climate change response, achieving carbon neutrality, and building a resource-circulating society.

Kibo was recognized for its achievements in supporting carbon neutrality among small and medium-sized enterprises through its proprietary Carbon Value Assessment Model and K-Taxonomy Assessment System (KTAS), as well as for its contribution to promoting green finance by fully covering financial costs for climate tech companies in the Busan area. These accomplishments led to Kibo receiving this environmental award.

In particular, the 'Full Financial Cost Support for Carbon Reduction Technology Companies' initiative, promoted in collaboration with Busan Metropolitan Government and BNK Financial Group, helped reduce the burden of technology commercialization for companies and contributed to strengthening the foundation of the climate tech industry in the Busan region.

Lee Jaepil, Director of Kibo, stated, "Based in Busan, Kibo has actively leveraged its regional network to expand green finance support projects for low-carbon innovation and has played a leading role in helping local SMEs transition to carbon neutrality." He added, "Kibo will continue to develop customized support programs to enhance the carbon neutrality capabilities of small and medium-sized ventures, accelerating the green growth of climate tech companies and supporting the transition to a low-carbon industrial structure."
