Culture Ministry Opens Carbon Neutral Experience Center with Janmang Loopy

Until June 9 at Corner Square, Bukchon, Seoul

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that it will open the Carbon Neutral Sparkle Experience Center in collaboration with the popular Korean character 'Janmang Loopy' at 3:00 p.m. on June 5, Environment Day, on the first floor of Corner Square (14 Bukchon-ro 5-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul).

The Sparkle Experience Center is a space designed to communicate the seriousness of the climate crisis in a friendly way and to raise public interest in practicing carbon-neutral lifestyles. It will be open until June 9. The center will display a variety of things that are common today but may disappear by 2050 due to the climate crisis, aiming to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

The Sparkle Experience Center consists of several zones, including the 'Climate Change Exhibition Zone,' 'Water Price Experience Zone,' 'Carbon Neutral Game Zone,' and 'Carbon Neutral Learning Zone.'

In the Climate Change Exhibition Zone and Water Price Experience Zone, visitors can encounter natural environments and foods that could disappear without the practice of carbon neutrality. In the Game Zone, visitors can discover various carbon-neutral actions through a hidden picture game. In the Learning Zone, Janmang Loopy explains carbon-neutral actions in an easy-to-understand manner.

Visitors who participate in the carbon-neutral action-finding game at the Carbon Neutral Game Zone can receive a Janmang Loopy pulp-type scrubber made from eco-friendly materials (1,000 per day). In addition, visitors who certify photos taken at the photo zone on social networking services (SNS) can receive a Janmang Loopy NFC keyring (200 per day), which connects to the Carbon Pay application that allows users to collect carbon-neutral points.

The Ministry also plans to run the 'Janmang Loopy's Seasonal Discovery' campaign until July, continuously emphasizing the importance of practicing carbon neutrality to protect the precious environment and resources available each season.
