Softer-Looking President Trump... Official Portrait Replaced After 4 Months

Changes in Background and Tie Color
White House Does Not Explain Reason for Replacement

The official portrait of U.S. President Donald Trump has been replaced after a little over four months.

Softer-Looking President Trump... Official Portrait Replaced After 4 Months New official photo of President Donald Trump.

According to CBS News on June 2 (local time), the White House has hung President Trump's new portrait in its offices.

While the overall atmosphere of the new official portrait is similar to the first one released just before his inauguration in January, there are differences in the details.

In the new official portrait, President Trump is wearing a red tie against a black and dark background. In the first official photo, the U.S. flag was visible in the background and he wore a blue tie. The new portrait emphasizes the contrast on President Trump's face, whereas the first portrait used lighting across the entire face, leaving no shadows.

Like the first portrait, the new official photo also shows President Trump with an almost expressionless face. However, some have commented that the new photo gives a somewhat softer impression. This is because the first official portrait resembled the mugshot taken when President Trump was indicted in Georgia in 2023 on charges of attempting to overturn the presidential election results.

Both the first and second official portraits were taken by White House chief photographer Daniel Turok. The White House announced that the existing official portraits of President Trump displayed in federal government buildings and offices will soon be replaced with the new photo. However, it did not explain the reason for changing the official portrait.
