Vocalist Na Sanghyun of the band "Na Sanghyun Band" admitted to allegations of sexual harassment and even issued an apology, but then suddenly reversed his position and announced plans for legal action.

On June 2, the agency January released an official statement, saying, "After thoroughly reviewing and confirming the situation with the artist, we have determined that the acts mentioned in the post are not true."

Previously, a post on an online community sparked controversy by claiming that "Na Sanghyun pretended to be drunk at a past drinking party and touched a woman's thigh."

Immediately after the controversy arose, Na Sanghyun posted on social media, saying, "I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have felt discomfort or distress because of my past actions," and added, "I ended up hurting people in a situation where I do not clearly remember the specific circumstances after drinking."

However, the agency argued that this apology statement "was posted preemptively on the assumption of moral responsibility, even though the facts had not been sufficiently verified," and explained, "The intention was to express a sense of responsibility for the controversy rather than remain silent when allegations were raised."

Regarding Na Sanghyun's earlier mention of his past drinking issues?"About three or four years ago, after being criticized for my words and actions while intoxicated, I reflected deeply and have consistently tried to improve with the help of those around me"?the agency stated, "This was meant to describe a period when he reviewed and improved his lifestyle as his alcohol consumption increased," and added, "We only realized after posting the statement that this expression could be misunderstood as an admission of the incident."

The agency said, "We deeply apologize for causing concern to fans and stakeholders due to our inadequate response," and requested, "Please refrain from making speculative remarks and slander about the artist and band members. We have currently appointed legal counsel and are preparing to respond."

Composed of members who graduated from Seoul National University, Na Sanghyun Band is an indie band that debuted in 2015 and has been actively performing. However, due to this controversy, their scheduled appearance at the "2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival" in August has been canceled. A nationwide tour is also planned for next month, but there is strong public backlash at the moment.
