Mokryeonmaeul Also Scheduled for Designation This Month
Approval Completed for 2035 Old Planned City Maintenance Master Plan for Non-Selected Complexes
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Shin Sangjin) announced on June 2 that, among the leading districts of Bundang New Town, the Hyundae-Woosung complex in the Sibeomdanji area became the first to receive preliminary project implementer designation approval on May 30.
The city explained that the Bundang reconstruction project is proceeding without setbacks, citing the "2035 Seongnam City Old Planned City Maintenance Master Plan" and the selection of this year's planned maintenance volume.
The Hyundae-Woosung complex in Sibeomdanji, one of the four districts designated as leading districts last year, consists of a total of 3,713 households, including Hyundae and Woosung Apartments as well as Jangantown Geonyeong Villas. Another leading district, Mokryeonmaeul (comprising Daewon, Seonghwan, Doowon, Dragon, Samjeong Green, Miwon, Hwaseong, and Daejin villa complexes, totaling 1,107 households), is also scheduled to receive preliminary project implementer designation within this month.
Seongnam City stated that the "2035 Seongnam City Old Planned City Maintenance Master Plan," which forms the foundation of this reconstruction project, received approval from Gyeonggi Province on May 27. The city also plans to announce the selection method for the 12,000-household maintenance volume scheduled for this year within June.
To this end, the city held four meetings with Bundang area resident representatives last month and also gathered opinions from private-sector experts. When determining the method for selecting the maintenance volume in the future, the city will also seek feedback from residents across all of Bundang. In particular, the city plans to actively reflect residents' positions on key items such as expanding public contributions and supporting relocation measures, which were proposed during the leading district competition, by giving them thorough consideration.
An official from Seongnam City stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure the smooth progress of the maintenance project by strengthening administrative support, including fair and transparent decision-making and prompt handling of civil complaints."
Meanwhile, in November last year, the city finalized a total of four districts comprising 12,055 households as the result of the "Bundang New Town Leading District Selection." The apartment types designated as leading districts are as follows: Basic District 29, S5 (Saetbyeolmaeul Life, Dongseong, Woobang, Sambu, Hyundae/2,843 households); Basic District 30 (Yangjimaeul Kumho, Cheonggu, Hanyang/4,392 households); Basic District 21, S4 (Sibeomdanji Hyundae, Woosung, Jangantown Geonyeong/3,713 households); and, for multi-family housing, Basic District 6, S2 (Mokryeonmaeul 8 complexes/1,107 households).
