The Democratic Party's Gwangju election committee visited the National May 18th Democratic Cemetery that morning to appeal for consolidated support. Yang Bumnam, the chief election committee chair, along with seven local members of the National Assembly, stated, "In May 1980, the citizens of Gwangju risked their lives to defend democracy," and added, "Now, please defend it with your vote. Choose Lee Jaemyung with confidence to uphold Gwangju's pride and honor."

Instead of holding a large-scale rally at the regional level, the Democratic Party's Gwangju election committee conducted focused campaigning and listening tours at key locations for each of the eight local committees. The Jeonnam election committee began its campaign at the lower market in Suncheon and continued in the eastern region, including Yeosu and Gwangyang, meeting voters at venues such as the POSCO cafeteria and the Booyoung 3rd intersection.

The People Power Party also sought to secure last-minute votes in Gwangju and Jeonnam. The Gwangju election committee held a campaign event at Malbau Market in the morning, followed by a 'finale rally' in front of the National Asia Culture Center in the afternoon.

The Jeonnam provincial party appealed for support at locations including the lower market in Suncheon, the Boseong Nokchagol Traditional Market, and the Naju Power Exchange. Kim Hwajin, the chief election committee chair of the People Power Party's Jeonnam provincial party, stated, "We have gone through the painful experience of two presidential impeachments. We sincerely apologize to the people and pledge to be reborn as a new conservative force."

Beginning at 5 a.m. at the Cheomdan bus terminal, he visited Emco Korea, Pyeongdong Industrial Complex, Gwangju City Hall, and the Kia Motors factory, concluding his final rally at Heukseok Intersection in Gwangsan-gu.
