Chungnam Development Corporation announced that on June 2, President Kim Byungkeun visited the sites of the "Gyeryong Hadaesil 2 District Urban Development Project" and the "Korea National Defense University Fitness Center Construction Project" to conduct on-site inspections in preparation for the rainy season and to prevent summer disasters.
On this day, President Kim received a briefing on flood prevention plans at the sites and closely inspected the status of preemptive measures taken for major risk factors in preparation for extreme weather events such as heavy rainfall.
In particular, he thoroughly examined protective measures to prevent soil erosion, the management status of cut and fill slopes, and the installation of temporary drainage channels and sedimentation ponds.
President Kim urged, "Please make every effort to thoroughly complete flood prevention measures before the full onset of the rainy season at the end of June, so that not only the construction sites but also nearby residents are protected from any damage."
