Construction to Begin in May Next Year,
Occupancy Targeted for 2029
Daejeon Urban Corporation announced that it will supply 762 privately constructed rental housing units for young people and newlyweds in Gapcheon Block 4, as part of the nation's first regionally proposed public-supported private rental housing project.
Gapcheon Block 4, for which the preferred bidder was selected on May 14, has a total construction plan of 951 units. Of these, 762 units, accounting for 80%, will be supplied to young people and newlyweds.
The corporation plans to proceed with follow-up administrative procedures with the selected preferred bidder, aiming to begin construction in May 2026, complete the project in December 2028, and start occupancy in 2029.
Jung Kukyoung, President of Daejeon Urban Corporation, stated, "By supplying housing for young people and newlyweds in Gapcheon Block 4, which offers excellent residential conditions such as Gapcheon Lake Park, we aim to reduce housing costs for the younger generation over the next 10 years and serve as a stepping stone toward home ownership."
