Korea Racing Authority and Busan Police Join Forces to Combat Illegal Online Horse Racing

The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jung Kiwan) has joined forces with the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency to combat the spread of illegal online horse racing.

On May 29, the Korea Racing Authority signed a "Business Agreement for the Eradication of Illegal Online Horse Racing and Improvement of Enforcement Results" with the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency at the main conference room of the Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters.

Recently, illegal online horse racing has been indiscriminately spreading to young people and others through social media and mobile apps, and has emerged as a social issue due to increasing economic damage and related crimes.

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to strengthen cooperation in several areas: sharing information on illegal gambling activities, providing mutual support in enforcement and investigations, and conducting public awareness campaigns to prevent victimization.

Jung Kiwan, Chairman of the Korea Racing Authority, stated, "This agreement is an important first step toward establishing a sound leisure culture," and added, "We will continue to expand cooperation among public institutions to eradicate illegal horse racing."
