Kim Moonsoo: "Job-Centered Growth... Achieving 3% Potential Growth Rate"

Economic Policy 'MSnomics' Announced
"Distribution Stronger Than Welfare"

Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, announced his economic transformation policy, "MS (More & Secure)nomics," on the 30th.

Kim presented "job-centered growth" as his vision. He emphasized, "Jobs drive growth, and growth directly leads to distribution and welfare," adding, "The only solution to revitalize the Korean economy is job-centered growth."

He also revealed three main objectives: restoring the potential growth rate through reforms in business, education, and finance; achieving a "flowing economy" where the barriers to employment are lowered and the fruits of growth are distributed to all citizens; and ensuring warm, survival-oriented welfare that guarantees basic rights in life.

Specifically, he set a goal of achieving a 3% potential growth rate by 2030. He also outlined a blueprint that includes: raising per capita national income to $40,000; making Korea one of the world's top five export powers; becoming the global leader in nuclear energy; advancing to become one of the global top three in artificial intelligence (AI); and nurturing 100 world champion companies in new technologies.

To achieve these goals, he presented six core strategies: investment in technology; eliminating business regulations; establishing a foundation for self-reliance through guaranteeing basic rights and tax cuts; creating an employment-friendly labor market; transitioning to choice-based education; and supporting growth-oriented fiscal policies.

Kim stated, "Through a job-centered 'flowing economy,' we will ensure that the fruits of growth reach all citizens," and added, "With MSnomics, we will achieve real growth and warm welfare that go beyond populism."
