Pukyong National University Hosts Special Lectures by US, Japanese, and Chinese Consuls in Succession

A Variety of Special Lectures on "International Relations and the Role of Youth"
Held from May 27 to 29

Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) hosted a series of special lectures by consuls from the United States, Japan, and China over three days from May 27 to May 29, 2025, as part of the 2025 PKNU WEEK (anniversary week) events.


The event, organized by the Office of International Affairs at Pukyong National University, brought together the consuls of the three countries based in Busan and current students. The aim was to broaden understanding of the international community and provide insights into the role of youth within it through in-depth discussions on politics, economics, and culture.


On the first day, Nolan Barkhouse, Consul of the United States in Busan, delivered a lecture on "Our Role in Korea-US Relations" at the Leadership Hall on the third floor of the Dongwon Jangbogo Hall.

On the second day, Oscar Tsuyoshi, Consul General of Japan in Busan, gave a special lecture commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan at the Executive MBA classroom on the 10th floor of the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Business Building.

On the final day, Chen Ribiao, Consul General of China in Busan, continued the series with a lecture on "China's Modernization and Korea-China Relations" at the Leadership Hall on the third floor of the Dongwon Jangbogo Hall.

During the special lectures, Consul Barkhouse emphasized the importance of achieving results by working together with others with a sense of purpose, while Consul General Otsuka delivered a message of challenge, encouraging students to "look beyond the sea from Busan to the world."


Consul General Chen Ribiao encouraged continued cooperation for mutual benefit.
