"Incontinence Medical Expenses Supported by District Office"... Seongbuk-gu Implements Program First Among Districts

Selected for Ministry of Health and Welfare Program
Up to 1 Million Won Annual Out-of-Pocket Support for Low-Income Residents

Seongbuk-gu in Seoul will provide medical expense support to low-income seniors aged 60 and above who have been diagnosed with incontinence.

This initiative was selected through the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Incontinence Treatment Support Program' competition, making Seongbuk-gu the only district among Seoul's autonomous districts to implement the program for the first time. The district aims to improve the quality of life for seniors and support their healthy aging through this project. Incontinence is a condition that can lead to a decline in quality of life and urinary tract diseases, making early diagnosis and treatment essential.

The program is available to basic livelihood security recipients, people in the near-poverty group, and single-parent family support recipients who are registered residents of Seongbuk-gu and are aged 60 or older.
