Global lifecare company Newon is set to target the global hotel, restaurant, and cafe (HORECA) market, beginning with the first export of its premium Korean food ingredient brand, 'Sallim Baekseo Fresh.'
On May 29, Newon announced that it has selected Thailand, Australia, and Canada as its initial export destinations and has signed export contracts totaling $300,000 (approximately 400 million KRW). Starting with these exports, the company plans to expand its distribution network by participating in overseas exhibitions and identifying local partners.
Sallim Baekseo Fresh is a premium food ingredient brand derived from Newon's household essentials brand, 'Sallim Baekseo.' The brand offers a wide range of products, including essential Korean ingredients such as kimchi and gochugaru, as well as sesame seeds, seaweed flakes, sauces, and more.
Sallim Baekseo Fresh has enhanced its global competitiveness by establishing a clear brand identity for commercial Korean food ingredients and optimizing all processes?packaging, certification, and distribution?for export. In particular, the brand has secured global certifications such as HACCP, BRCG (British Retail Consortium Global Standard), and HALAL (in accordance with Islamic law), ensuring both safety and a distribution structure tailored to each export destination.
A Newon representative stated, "Through Sallim Baekseo Fresh, we aim to expand our presence in the global Korean food ingredient market while solidifying our position in both domestic and international HORECA markets based on practicality, quality, and brand differentiation." The representative also added, "Our goal is to achieve annual exports exceeding 5 billion KRW."
Newon's Sallim Baekseo is a household essentials brand offering natural ingredient detergents, kitchenware, and cleaning products, targeting consumers who value practicality and reasonable prices. The export of 'Sallim Baekseo Kitchen,' a global kitchen brand emphasizing reasonable prices, practicality, and trendy sensibility, to Canada is also scheduled to take place in June.
