Daejeon Records 13.34%, South Chungcheong 12.88% Early Voting Turnout

As of 3:00 p.m. on the first day of early voting for the 21st presidential election on the 29th, the average early voting turnout was recorded at 13.34% in Daejeon, 15.85% in Sejong, and 12.88% in South Chungcheong Province.
In particular, Sejong's turnout was 1.8 percentage points higher than the national average of 14.05%. Compared to the same time during the 20th presidential election, when the turnout was 13.30%, this is an increase of 2.55 percentage points.
According to the National Election Commission, between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on this day, 162,944 out of 1,241,882 eligible voters in Daejeon participated in early voting.
Daejeon's early voting turnout was 13.34%, which is 1.62 percentage points higher than the 11.72% recorded during the same period in the previous presidential election.
In Sejong, 47,359 out of 307,067 eligible voters cast their ballots, resulting in a turnout of 15.85%. This is the highest early voting turnout in the Chungcheong region, ranking fourth nationwide after South Jeolla Province (26.54%), North Jeolla Province (24.36%), and Gwangju (23.39%).
In South Chungcheong Province, 236,898 out of 1,839,339 eligible voters participated, resulting in a turnout of 12.88%.
This is 1.17 percentage points lower than the national average early voting turnout of 14.05% at the same time, but 0.92 percentage points higher than the 11.96% recorded during the 20th presidential election.
The region with the highest early voting turnout was Seocheon County, at 16.54%. This represents a 5.82 percentage point increase compared to the figure at noon. Next were Cheongyang County at 16.08% (up 5.84 percentage points) and Gyeryong City at 15.69% (up 5.39 percentage points).
The region with the lowest turnout was Seobuk-gu in Cheonan, at 10.47%. This is a 4.12 percentage point increase from the noon figure. Following this were Asan City with 11.14% (up 4.28 percentage points) and Dongnam-gu in Cheonan with 11.50% (up 4.40 percentage points).
Early voting will continue until the 30th, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. Eligible voters can cast their ballots at any early voting station nationwide, regardless of their registered address, as long as they have valid identification.
