Final Selection of Integrated Name and Character Through Citizen Preference Surveys
Preparing for a New Leap with the Friendly Character "Chamseonbi Jikimi"
The Yeongju Cultural Tourism Foundation announced on May 29 that it has finalized the integrated name for Seonbi Sesang, Seonbi Village, and the Korea Seonbi Culture Training Center as "Seonbi Culture Theme Park," and has selected "Chamseonbi Jikimi" as the integrated character.
The foundation held a contest to develop the integrated brand starting in April. To reflect public opinion, the foundation conducted the first round of preference surveys at the Children's Seonbi Festival site from May 3 to May 6, and the second round at Yeongju City Hall and Yeongju Station from May 12 to May 18.
As a result of the surveys, "Seonbi Culture Theme Park" received the most support among the proposed integrated names, while "Chamseonbi Jikimi" received a strong response from citizens in the character category. Accordingly, the foundation finalized both the name and the character by reflecting the opinions of both experts and citizens.
"Seonbi Culture Theme Park" is a name that integrates Yeongju's representative Seonbi culture content into a modern and approachable image, and is expected to appeal more attractively to tourists of all ages. The character "Chamseonbi Jikimi" is designed to modernize Yeongju's unique Seonbi spirit and will serve as a friendly symbol to communicate with visitors.
Going forward, the foundation plans to strengthen the operational links between existing facilities based on the newly established brand, and to implement integrated marketing strategies to help revitalize local tourism.
Lee Jaehun, the acting chairman of the foundation, stated, "The selection of the new name and character reflects both expert evaluations and citizen opinions," adding, "We hope that the new brand will widely promote Yeongju's Seonbi culture and make it even more accessible and familiar to visitors."
