GV70 Achieves Highest Sales in North America
Genesis announced on May 29 that the GV70 facelift model has proven its top-tier product quality, receiving an enthusiastic response from leading North American automotive media outlets.
Genesis recently held the 'GV70 Media First Drive' event in Houston, Texas, combining a presentation of key technologies applied to the GV70 with a test drive session, highlighting the vehicle’s product strengths and technological prowess.
The event was attended by more than 60 major North American media outlets, including judges from the World Car of the Year (WCOTY) and North American Car of the Year (NACTOY) awards, as well as MotorTrend, Car and Driver, Edmunds, Automotive News, and Kelley Blue Book.
Through its facelift, the GV70 has achieved enhanced driving performance, improved quietness, and a more refined interior space. As a result, leading North American media praised it as "a premium SUV that meets every requirement, with no rival in terms of luxury and performance."
The GV70 now features 'hydro bushing' in the rear suspension, in addition to the front, improving ride comfort. Steering has been further optimized for more stable vehicle handling. The model also adopts a preview electronic control suspension with new features such as Highway Body Control (HBC), which collectively enhance overall driving performance. HBC allows for more precise control of vehicle movement when using Smart Cruise Control (SCC) on highways.
Car and Driver commented, "The GV70 still skillfully straddles the line between luxury and sport. Ride comfort over rough surfaces has improved, and sharper steering makes cornering more precise than before." MotorTrend also noted, "There is no compromise in handling, and the ride quality is definitely better than before." Automotive evaluation platforms such as Edmunds and Cars.com also gave high marks to the GV70’s driving performance.
The GV70 features active noise control, which measures and analyzes road noise in real time and emits sound waves of the opposite phase through the speakers, dramatically reducing the level of noise perceived by occupants and significantly enhancing quietness.
Canada’s automotive media platform Driving stated, "Texas roads are notably noisy at high speeds, but the GV70 is astonishingly quiet and smooth. I was impressed by the calm interior while driving on the highway."
The GV70’s interior, distinguished by its unique design, premium materials and finishes, and advanced convenience features, also received high praise. U.S. News & World Report raved, "The panel finishes, modern dashboard design, and carbon fiber trim on the center console are truly fantastic?enough to put competing models in the segment to shame."
Meanwhile, since its launch in the North American market, the GV70 has become Genesis’s best-selling model, recording the highest sales volume. Last year, the GV70 accounted for 35% of total sales in the United States and 57% in Canada, solidifying Genesis’s presence in the North American market.
