Early Voting Encouragement in Front of Champions Field on the 28th
"Gwangju's Support Is Essential for Becoming a Great President"

On the afternoon of May 28, in front of Kia Champions Field in Buk-gu, Gwangju, Jeong Chungrae, a member of the National Assembly and head of the Honam Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea's Neighborhood Election Countermeasures Committee, stood on a campaign vehicle and appealed for early voting participation, saying, "Let the Kia Tigers win, and let Lee Jaemyung win as well."

Jeong emphasized, "The president is Lee Jaemyung. Please change it with your vote," urging citizens for their support.

At the scene, banners and placards with messages such as "Early voting May 29-30" and "Main vote on June 3" were displayed, and campaigners in blue vests greeted citizens while waving cheering sticks. A citizen who attached an early voting sign to their pet dog and participated in the campaign together also drew attention.

Citizens who were waiting for the game also stopped to watch. Kim, a 20-something office worker, said, "I came to watch the game, but since there was a campaign event, I stopped to take a look. I plan to vote early tomorrow. I hope something changes this time." An elderly couple in their seventies said, "We hope the country where our children and grandchildren will live will improve, even if just a little."

Jeong continued to express his support for candidate Lee Jaemyung during a campaign event at the back gate of Chonnam National University the previous day. He said, "Candidate Lee Jaemyung has survived four life-threatening moments over the past three years: the prosecution's sword, the media's pen, a deadly weapon, and even an attempted 12·3 emergency martial law. He resembles President Kim Daejung." He then appealed, "So that it can be recorded that Lee Jaemyung became a great president thanks to Gwangju's protection and support, please give him an overwhelming majority this time as well."
