Preparation Status for Main Voting and Ballot Counting Stations on June 2
On May 28, the Chungnam Provincial Government inspected the preparations for early voting stations ahead of the 21st presidential election, which will be held on June 3.
The inspection covers 210 early voting stations, 756 main polling stations, and 16 ballot counting stations within the province.
The inspection team checked facilities at the polling stations, including electricity, telecommunications, and fire safety systems. They also reviewed the entire voting process, such as the issuance of ballot papers to voters, the procedures in case of an absence of the polling manager, and response measures for various unexpected situations.
Early voting for the 21st presidential election will take place over two days, from May 29 to May 30, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Main voting will be held on June 3 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ballot counting will be conducted at a total of 16 locations, with one counting station per city, county, or district election commission.
An official from the provincial government stated, "We will provide full support to ensure there are no issues by operating a situation room at the provincial government office during early voting and on the day of voting and ballot counting, and by closely cooperating with the election commission and other relevant agencies." The official added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that this 21st presidential election is conducted fairly and safely."
