GS Engineering & Construction announced on May 28 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Honeywell of the United States to promote digital transformation in its plant business and to create opportunities in the eco-friendly energy business sector.
Through this agreement, GS Engineering & Construction and Honeywell will jointly pursue technological collaboration aimed at the digital transformation of plant operations, as well as reducing carbon emissions and maximizing energy efficiency.
The two companies will cooperate in the following areas: reviewing the application of Honeywell UOP technology, which Honeywell holds usage rights for, at the initial project stage for energy transition and decarbonization technologies; conducting research on energy optimization and carbon reduction technologies; collaborating on the digitalization of plant operations using artificial intelligence (AI) technology; and sharing opportunities for collaboration on individual projects through regular meetings.
