Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province announced that the Yeonhwajeong Library, which has been operating from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays except for its regular closing days, will extend its hours by two hours and remain open until 9:00 p.m. from June 4 to August 29.

According to the city on May 28, the decision to extend operating hours was made to coincide with the period from June to August, when lotus flowers are in full bloom at the Deokjin Park pond each year. This extension aims to allow citizens and tourists to enjoy the library in greater comfort during this season.

The Yeonhwajeong Library, a hanok-style library that reflects Jeonju's identity and Korean beauty, offers a wide range of books on traditional culture as well as spaces for relaxation. By opening at night during the summer, the library enables citizens and tourists visiting Deokjin Park to spend leisurely evenings with books, even during the hot summer months.

Choi Hyunchang, Director of the City Library Headquarters, stated, "The summer night extension of Yeonhwajeong Library's operating hours will provide a great opportunity to experience both the beautiful natural scenery of Deokjin Park in full bloom with lotus flowers and the charm of a traditional hanok library at night. We hope that many citizens and tourists will enjoy the culture and relaxed summer nights at Yeonhwajeong Library."

Meanwhile, Yeonhwajeong Library will remain closed every Monday, and this schedule will continue during the extended operating period.
