Picnic with Books on the Lawn
Spreading the Culture of Reading
The Busan National University Library, led by President Choi Jaewon, is holding the outdoor reading event 'Pic-Book' for two days from May 27 to May 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, on the Saebyeok Lawn in front of the campus museum.

'Pic-Book' is a new reading program launched by the Busan National University Library. The name carries a double meaning: a picnic with books and the act of picking a book to read. The event is designed to allow participants to experience the joy of reading outdoors, beyond the traditional library setting.
Participants will be provided with a picnic set free of charge, which includes the book they selected in advance, a mat, and a bean bag. They can enjoy reading at their leisure in the designated outdoor area while taking in the natural surroundings of the campus.
The books available for the event consist of ten titles: popular books with high circulation at the Busan National University Library and selections carefully chosen by the library staff. Featured books include "Contradiction," "Brilliant Extinction," "A Life Only Once," and "Will I Be Happy, Even If It Feels Like I Shouldn't Be?" These cover a range of topics such as healing, personal growth, and social culture.
On-site participation is also available for those who did not register in advance. On-site participants will receive a blind book selected at random from the ten titles, offering the excitement of discovering a new book.
A representative from the Busan National University Library stated, "We expect that this 'Pic-Book' event will lower the barriers to everyday reading by providing a unique experience of reading in nature, and will serve as an opportunity to naturally spread a culture of reading across the campus."
