On the 26th, Gimpo City held an interim report meeting for the 'Establishment of Basic Plan for Urban and Residential Environment Improvement' project at the city hall's medium conference room. During the meeting, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the direction of redevelopment projects and the criteria for designating redevelopment zones for the next ten years (2026?2035).
This basic plan is a statutory plan under the 'Act on the Maintenance and Improvement of Urban Areas and Dwelling Conditions for Residents.' It focuses on conducting a thorough assessment of the current status of old and substandard buildings throughout Gimpo City and presenting rational and effective alternatives for areas in need of redevelopment.
At the meeting, the following topics were presented: ▲analysis results on the degree of aging and the need for redevelopment, ▲directions for each type of redevelopment, and ▲future step-by-step implementation strategies. Mayor Kim Byungsoo, relevant city officials, and representatives from the consulting firm attended the meeting and exchanged a variety of opinions.
Gimpo City plans to incorporate the feedback provided at this meeting to further refine the plan. Another interim report meeting will be held in November, and the final report meeting to confirm the basic plan is scheduled for early next year.
Mayor Kim Byungsoo emphasized, "Convenience in citizens' daily lives is the top priority in city administration," and added, "This basic plan must go beyond simple physical redevelopment and be established in a sustainable direction that reflects the unique characteristics and conditions of each area. The city will actively ensure that the voices of citizens are fully reflected so that a practical and effective plan is created."
Meanwhile, Gimpo City is steadily laying the foundation to become a metropolis with a population of 700,000 by improving the residential environment and achieving balanced urban development through systematic and professional planning.
