Diverse Programs Including Hands-on Activities, Exhibitions, and Performances
to Be Held at the County Office Lobby and Outdoor Yard on June 7
Gijang County in Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on May 27 that it will hold the '2nd Gijang County Patriots and Veterans Appreciation Festival' on June 7 at the lobby and outdoor yard of the Gijang County Office.
This event, themed 'Remembering Heroes, Connecting Generations,' is designed as a participatory program that allows all Gijang residents to directly experience and appreciate the meaning of honoring patriots and veterans. The festival is hosted by Gijang County and organized in cooperation with the Gijang County Council, Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters, local social welfare and volunteer organizations, the 3rd Battalion of the 6339th Unit, and other related local institutions.
The event will begin with an official ceremony at 10:00 a.m. and will feature a variety of programs, including hands-on activities, exhibitions, performances, and side events, running until 5:00 p.m.
The main experiential programs include: ▲Student soldier shooting experience ▲Copying the Declaration of Independence ▲Hill recapture operation ▲Military code-breaking mission. These activities offer children and youth immersive opportunities to learn about history and receive education through direct experience.
In addition, there will be exhibitions of military supplies and veterans' collections that are rarely seen in daily life, materials related to the Korean War, and a special exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the reinstatement of Gijang County. These exhibitions are intended to provide a meaningful space for reflecting on the historical significance of the Gijang region and the importance of national security.
Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, said, "Through this Patriots and Veterans Appreciation Festival, I hope to share gratitude for the sacrifice and dedication of our national heroes with residents, and that the value of honoring patriots and veterans will be naturally passed down to future generations.
