Hansung Cleantech Turns a Profit in Q1... 'Upside' Expected with Expanded Semiconductor Cluster Investment

Hansung Cleantech, a company specializing in industrial water treatment and ultrapure water EPC, has successfully turned a profit in the first quarter of 2025, signaling a full-fledged rebound in its performance.

Hansung Cleantech Turns a Profit in Q1... 'Upside' Expected with Expanded Semiconductor Cluster Investment

On May 27, Hansung Cleantech announced that it recorded 30 billion KRW in standalone sales and 500 million KRW in operating profit for the first quarter. On a consolidated basis, the company posted 46.9 billion KRW in sales and 1.9 billion KRW in operating profit.

The company had previously experienced a temporary downturn in performance due to a sharp contraction in investment in downstream industries in the previous year, as well as delays in contracted projects and cost volatility.

A company representative explained, "We have restructured our business model through process efficiency improvements and a profitability-focused strategy that eliminates uncertainties, which we have been preparing step by step since last year. As a result, we succeeded in turning a profit in the first quarter."

The representative added, "Even amid last year's difficult market conditions, our focus on strengthening technological competitiveness and restructuring project cost structures led to improved performance this quarter. In particular, new project orders focused on profitability?mainly from major customers in downstream industries?are gradually gaining momentum."

As a result, expectations for future performance are rising. The government’s 'Yongin Semiconductor Cluster' development project is now in full swing, and demand for industrial water facilities?which are essential for semiconductor processes?is expected to surge.

The company also noted that, as a key participant in national projects for localization and as a strong small and medium-sized enterprise with a track record in ultrapure water EPC for leading domestic semiconductor companies such as SK Siltron, it is well positioned to benefit from related projects going forward.

In addition, through its wholly owned subsidiary EN Water Solution, the company is securing stable profitability in the treatment of high-concentration liquid waste for advanced industries such as semiconductors. Its new resource-circulation business, which recovers high-value-added resources such as 'fluorite' and 'ammonium sulfate' from waste liquids, is also progressing smoothly.

The company representative stated, "With the recovery of downstream industries, we expect profitability to improve based on our technological capabilities and references," adding, "We aim to establish ourselves as a company recognized for its intrinsic value in the market through continued performance improvement."
