"Coffee to Listen, Music to Drink"... Dobong District Unveils Ultimate Music X Coffee Project

Dobong District in Seoul (District Mayor Oh Unseok) has produced a new cultural content that combines coffee and music.

The content was created through a collaboration between OPCD (Open Changdong), Dobong District's music creation support platform, and the local cafe 'Gabaemiheon'.

Previously, the district launched the 'Open Changdong Soul Blend' project to produce unique cultural content exclusive to Dobong District.

'Open Changdong Soul Blend' is a compound word that merges 'soul', a music genre, with 'blend', a coffee-making method, symbolizing the fusion of soul music and coffee.

At the end of June, as a result of the collaboration between Open Changdong and the local cafe, a music track reflecting their unique styles will be released. The announcement that 'Soul Delivery', one of Korea's top black music bands, would participate drew significant attention.

A total of three songs have been produced, each featuring a variety of instruments and possessing its own distinctive charm. In particular, the track with a rich saxophone sound creates a sophisticated atmosphere that pairs perfectly with coffee.

The local cafe 'Gabaemiheon' will also introduce a new coffee that complements the music. The drink features espresso with a pronounced acidity, blended with orange juice and topped with smooth foam, stimulating both the visual and gustatory senses.

The district plans to hold a small-scale music listening session at 'Gabaemiheon' at the end of June to coincide with the release date. During the event, attendees will be able to hear in detail about the song production process and behind-the-scenes stories.

Oh Unseok, Mayor of Dobong District, stated, "This project goes beyond simply producing music tracks; it is an original and experimental attempt for local cafes and music artists to thrive together. Through this, I hope to broaden the cultural and artistic foundation of Dobong District."
