This investment demonstrates that, despite the recent downturn in the startup investment environment, Team Upgrade's market potential and technological capabilities have been highly recognized within the industry. Leveraging this investment, Team Upgrade plans to accelerate its expansion into the North American market and further advance its AI technology.
Upgrade Campus is a platform that provides customized educational solutions for students worldwide?currently from 85 countries?who are following the U.S. curriculum and preparing for admission to top universities such as the Ivy League and U.S. medical schools. The platform supports all aspects of the admissions process, including SAT/ACT test preparation, AP/IB subject tutoring, GPA management, and essay consulting. It also enhances learning efficiency through an AI-based learning diagnosis and feedback system (LMS).
In particular, the AI-powered learning management system offers features such as automatic session recording and speech-to-text conversion, real-time learning progress reports, automatic summarization, and AI-based recommendations, boasting a higher level of technological sophistication compared to competitors.
Coolidge Corner Investment, a venture capital firm specializing in ICT and edtech that led this investment round, focused on Team Upgrade's market growth potential and global scalability. Currently, approximately 40% of Upgrade Campus's total revenue comes from the North American market.
Team Upgrade CEO Minwoo Ahn stated, "There is high demand for private education to prepare for the SAT in major U.S. cities, and we aim to meet the needs of students seeking maximum learning outcomes with lower costs and shorter study times. In particular, our service will be a great help to those aiming for top schools such as medical schools or the Ivy League."
