CJ Logistics to Host "Future Technology Challenge" for Logistics Operations Optimization

The Only Logistics Competition in Korea Hosted by a Logistics Company

On May 26, CJ Logistics announced that it will host the logistics technology competition, "Future Technology Challenge 2025."

CJ Logistics to Host "Future Technology Challenge" for Logistics Operations Optimization

This is the only competition directly organized by a logistics company, and this year marks its fifth edition. To date, approximately 1,600 participants from around 700 undergraduate and graduate teams have taken part, earning praise for providing opportunities to gain hands-on, industry-related experience.

Starting this year, CJ Logistics has established its own online platform, introducing an automated scoring system based on 100% quantitative evaluation and a real-time leaderboard. Participants can submit their assignments through the platform and check their scores and rankings in real time. The entire process is conducted through quantitative evaluation without any on-site judging, allowing participants to focus on development without added pressure.

The competition features two main topics: "AI-based Delivery Route and Loading Sequence Optimization," which involves designing algorithms that consider both efficient delivery routes and loading methods based on unloading order; and "Order Picking Process Optimization in Logistics Centers," which requires developing operational solutions that take into account product storage locations, picking methods, and worker movement paths. Participants may enter both categories, and the top team in each category will receive a prize of 10 million KRW.

Participants can select their preferred task and develop optimization algorithms, submitting their results during the assignment period. Upon submission, scores and rankings are immediately available in real time, with the leaderboard displaying scores for each criterion. Based on this feedback, participants can continuously improve their optimization algorithms. The final evaluation will be based on assignments submitted by the deadline.

Applications are open from May 26 to June 20 through the "CJ Logistics Future Technology Challenge" website, and results will be announced on the leaderboard page of the website on July 21.

Kim Jeonghee, Head of the TES Logistics Technology Research Center at CJ Logistics, stated, "As a leading logistics company in Korea, we are driving technological advancement across the industry and taking the lead in solving long-standing challenges in logistics by actively adopting new technologies such as AI. We hope that participants will use this competition as an opportunity to directly experience how technology can solve complex problems in industrial settings."
