A Total of 8 Financial Education Sessions at Nowon District Office from June to August
Practical Programs to Strengthen Youth Financial Skills and Prevent Financial Crises
Applications Open for 'Cheongnyeon Doyak' Youth Shared Office for Prospective and Early-Stage Entrepreneurs from May 26 to June 4
Nowon District in Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seungrok) announced that it will conduct a youth-tailored financial education program, the 'Youth Finance Workshop,' to help young people improve their financial literacy and achieve economic independence.
The program aims to systematically provide practical financial knowledge closely related to daily life, such as asset management, credit management, and prevention of jeonse fraud, so that young people can proactively establish their own financial plans.
The education sessions will be held eight times from June to August, targeting young people aged 19 to 39 who reside in or are based in Nowon District. All sessions are provided free of charge.
The June sessions will cover practical topics, starting with 'Youth Financial Management Guide' on the 12th, followed by 'Smart Selection of Financial Products' on the 19th, and 'Essential Tax Knowledge for Tax Savings' on the 26th.
Each session is limited to 40 participants. Applications for the June sessions can be submitted via Google Forms from May 21 to June 4 at 5:00 p.m. Participants will be selected through a random draw, and the results will be individually notified on June 5.
In addition, the district is also recruiting tenants for the youth shared office 'Cheongnyeon Doyak,' as part of customized policies to strengthen the economic independence of young entrepreneurs.
'Cheongnyeon Doyak,' which means 'promising the success of challenging youth,' has been providing stable startup spaces and a foundation for growth to young entrepreneurs since its opening in June 2023.
Located near Sanggye Station on Subway Line 4, the facility consists of three independent offices, a shared meeting room, and a lounge. It offers an affordable annual rent of about 280,000 won (excluding utility fees), as well as various office equipment and internet access.
One team wishing to move in will be recruited until June 4. After a document screening, interviews will be held on June 17, and the results will be announced afterward. Eligible applicants must have a representative aged 19 to 39 who, as of the announcement date, is either a Nowon District resident or has a business located in Nowon District. For existing startups, the business (or corporate) registration must be within three years.
The district also plans to hold two 'Shared Office Preview Sessions' to allow young entrepreneurs to tour the space before applying.
District Mayor Oh Seungrok stated, "Financial literacy is a crucial factor directly linked to the quality of life for young people," and added, "Along with youth financial education, we will continue to provide practical and ongoing support for young people to achieve economic independence and startup success through initiatives such as the operation of the 'Cheongnyeon Doyak' shared office."
