Upon inspection of the site, it was reported that at one of the two locations where the banners disappeared, a campaign banner for Democratic Party candidate Lee Jaemyung had been put up.

The People Power Party Jeonnam Election Committee stated, "It was confirmed that the person who removed the banner is a public official affiliated with the Soan-myeon Office. There are many suspicions regarding a public official taking down a specific candidate's banner," adding, "Measures are needed to prevent a recurrence in the future."

Regarding this, a police official said, "It is presumed that the person who removed the banner is a staff member of the township office, but it has not been determined whether this was a simple mistake or an intentional act," adding, "We are investigating the exact circumstances."

The police are working to determine the specific details and sequence of events involving the persons concerned, and if any illegality is confirmed, they plan to take action in accordance with relevant laws.
