Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 25th, "If Lee Jaemyung, who is well-versed in the stock market, wins, I will of course crack down on stock price manipulation so severely that manipulators will be left with nothing," adding, "I expect that once the stock market is normalized in this way, stock prices will also rise."
On this day, during a campaign at the Dangjin Traditional Market in South Chungcheong Province, Lee said, "When you invest in blue-chip stocks, a few major shareholders set up subsidiaries and siphon off the core assets to make easy money. How can anyone invest in the Korean stock market under such circumstances?"
Lee emphasized, "The most urgent task for a Democratic Party government led by Lee Jaemyung is to revive the economy," and added, "People need to be able to make ends meet to survive." He continued, "Ignoring the basic principles of economics, they cut taxes themselves, then say, 'The government has no fiscal resources, so we can't provide support, just endure it.' This has led to a bizarre period of negative growth," he criticized. "How can the economy recover when such an incompetent group is in charge of the nation's finances?"
He further pointed out, "(The Yoon Sukyeol administration) has not only ruined the economy but also security," and added, "How can it be right to put all our eggs in one basket and make enemies of everyone else?" He also said, "We must confront Japan on issues such as denial of historical aggression, but at the same time, we should pursue economic and security cooperation and cultural exchanges. As we move toward the future, we must address what needs to be addressed."
Lee also commented on the relationship between Kim Moonsu, the People Power Party candidate, and former President Yoon Sukyeol. He said, "(During the last TV debate) I asked Candidate Kim, 'Will you sever ties with Yoon Sukyeol, the ringleader of insurrection?'" and added, "Isn't it obvious that he should?" He continued, "Of course, there may have been a time when they were close, and one might feel regret, but if you are running as a candidate in an election to overcome insurrection and establish a proper government that follows the will of the people, shouldn't you at least say, 'I will sever ties'?"
In addition, Lee stated, "If you cannot say you will sever ties with the main culprit of insurrection, doesn't that mean you intend to return together with him?" and added, "This election will determine whether a candidate who sympathizes with insurrection will make a comeback or not."
